When it comes to first modelling jobs, only a few come better than walking exclusively in the Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week. British model Danielle Lashley did just that earlier this week. Scouted at a Justin Bieber concert, the 21-year-old’s breakthrough into the industry can only be described as a fashion fairytale.
It is common knowledge that modelling as a career can have a very short lifespan, so for Danielle to make her debut at 21 is quite a unique move. “Her age alone gives her the edge in an industry that is (quite rightfully) often criticised for using girls who are too young,” Ross told Miss Vogue. “Danielle has the confidence and maturity to take on the fashion business in her stride.”
So, when it came to deciding to place her for Louis Vuitton how did Ross and his team know that this British new face and the heritage French house felt like a perfect match? “Louis Vuitton has a fantastic heritage of casting across diverse ethnicities, they love a strong woman. We were delighted Ashley Brokaw (the casting director) saw what we did when we proposed Danielle directly for the exclusive.”
Let’s see what’s next for the young star in the coming months.
